About Us

Based at the UK's premiere surfing location - Fistral Beach, Newquay, Cornwall.

The British Surfing Association is the official National Governing Body for the sport of surfing in the United Kingdom.
The National Surfing Centre, Fistral Beach and the B.S.A. Surf School, Lusty Glaze Beach are owned and run directly by the British Surfing Association. (B.S.A.)
You can be assured of the highest standards of coaching, safety and equipment.
Our Instructors are all Fully Accredited B.S.A. Surf Coaches and qualified Beach Lifeguards.
We can offer professional surf coaching for all abilities ranging from a first time novice to an Advanced Level competitor.
In the role of National Governing Body the B.S.A. plays a major role in surfing's development and governance. The B.S.A.'s aim is to promote, encourage and develop the sport of surfing in the U.K.
The surf schools play a key part in this and all the revenue goes directly back into funding the Association and helps to support surfing in the U.K. At our two surf schools we aim to provide top quality and fun surf coaching sessions, for all participants. The infamous 'Fistral Beach' is Britain's premiere surfing beach and home to all the U.K.'s major surfing competitions as well as the International A.S.P. event.

Fistral is renowned for its quality and consistent waves. The north end is suited to the experienced surfer especially at low tide where the sand banks provide punchy, sucky hollow peaks.
The middle and south end of the beach are more suited for the less experienced surfer, with gentler and smaller surf as a rule.

Lusty Glaze Beach is a privately owned beach located in Newquay's 'Bay.'It is more sheltered when the surf gets bigger and is offshore under the predominant southwesterly wind. The location is quieter than Fistral and it's a more family orientated beach. The surf on Lusty is ideal for kids as it is generally smaller and gentler than Fistral.

Lusty is used as a back up location & 90% of lessons will take place at Fistral. On days when the swell is big and the wind southwesterly, the bay is the best place to surf in Newquay.We have two beach bases which offer a good variety of conditions and suitabilities under various conditions.
