AboutTrout Lodge Holiday Cottage is positioned in a designated area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Set on it's own little island with 600 yards of Fishing on the River Axe. Accommodation comprises of two twin bedrooms & one double en suite. Dogs welcome.
Facilities & InformationThe large sitting room has a stone fireplace with an electric wood
burner effect stove, TV, video, DVD, Radio & CD player, large
sofas and two sets of French doors onto the patio. Additional InformationAxminster is a pretty little market town centred round the 12th century church.
Local shops include Tesco; a good local butcher, a deli, and a bakery in South Street with the hardware shop Lawsons on the corner; and a fishmonger in Silver Street. There is also the wonderful country store, Mole Avon, by the station, which, apart from food, seems to sell everything you could ever need! (except flies - you have to go to
Honiton (A35) for those, on the left near the traffic lights in the High Street). There is also a post office, stationers, antique and gift shops, a wine bars, pubs and a very helpful Tourist Information Centre. There is also a local Spar shop and post office at Weycroft within walking distance of Trout Lodge.
Local pubs with good food and local ales include The Ridgeway 1 mile up the road at Smallridge, and the George Inn and The Tytherly Arms 4 miles away on the Chard road (A358) at Tytherly.
