Facilities & InformationExmoor Zoo, Barnstaple offers a unique day out for all the family. Having opened in 1982, Exmoor Zoo, North Devon, has grown over the years, with changes constantly taking place to improve and provide 'natural' living spaces for many creatures some of which are no longer seen in the city zoos.
Careful planting of shrubs and trees over the years will keep you wondering what is around the next corner and provides you with a relaxing and natural atmosphere.
Having in the past, mainly specialised in smaller animals, today, Exmoor Zoo has new exhibits existing for larger animals such as the cheetah, blackbuck, maned wolves, sitatunga and naturally the renowned "Exmoor Beast!"
Having grown into the North Devon valley, Exmoor Zoo, Barnstaple reflects this by the talks and encounter sessions ( every half hour in the Summer months), with a visit from you showing that there is lot more here than first meets the eye!
Additional InformationExmoor Zoological Park, North Devon, has so much to offer the visitors. Over 200 species of animals and birds to see, feeding and contact sessions, talks, handling, zoo trails, Birthday Parties and you can even book to be a Zoo Keeper for half a day or a whole day! Amazing!
