Bed Rooms are on first floor so not suitable for wheelchair users. Apart from that every effort made to cater for special needs.

Local Information

 

There is a good selection of restuarants and food pubs within walking distance.  These include Thai, Indian and Chinese as well as an excellent traditional fish and chips restaurant. If you don't want to go far at all there is an excellent small hotel next door that will provide an evening meal.

 

Montpelier is near the famous Old Village of Shanklin with its thatched tea rooms, pubs and shops and 15 minutes walk to the Blue Flag beach and sea front.  Lovely down walks  and coastal paths with beautiful views are a short walking distance away.

 

The Island offers many activities including golf, horseriding, cycling, handgliding,  fishing and water sports.

Visits to the famous and much photographed Needles, Queen Victoria's Osborne House  and Ventnor's Botanic Gardens are a must,  as well as  Carisbrooke Castle, Tennyson's 'Farringford', The Isle of Wight Steam Railway and the world famous yachting centre of Cowes.  More than half the Isle of Wight is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and it  is packed with interesting things to do and places to see with its dramatic coastline forests and wildlife.
