Y Neuadd Lwyd is a Grade II Listed former 16th Century tavern near Betws-y-Coed in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park. This cosy 'home from home' 2 bedroom / 2 en-suite cottage has recently been modernised internally and features an inglenook fireplace, beamed ceilings and log burning stove.

On the ground floor, Y Neuadd Lwyd holiday cottage has spacious, open plan living accommodation with beamed ceilings, inglenook fireplace and woodburning stove. The double doors from the lounge area leads out onto an extensive decked terrace overlooking a private South West facing courtyard garden, Moel Siabod and the spectacular Snowdonia countryside beyond.The modern fitted kitchen features a dishwasher, microwave, electric oven, toaster, kettle, fridge with freezer compartment and all the cutlery, crockery and pots and pan you will need. The separate utility room houses a washing machine and can easily double up a secure lockable storage for 2 bikes. 

 

Upstairs, the holiday cottage has 2 stylish double bedrooms both with modern en-suite shower rooms.

An additional fold away single bed is also available with bedding and linen for a nominal charge (suitable for a child).

 

The cottage is approached along a private drive and has ample off road parking for 2 cars. 

IDEAL FOR FAMILIES - No need to bring the kitchen sink just request the use of any of the following free of charge :- high chair, travel cot, fire guard, stair gate, 3 wheel pram with rain cover and night light.


Additional Information

Dolwyddelan is a tranquil and picturesque friendly village with a strong sense of community. Located at the head of the Lledr Valley, at the foot of Moel Siabod and on the banks of the River Lledr. The village is perfectly situated for touring Snowdonia or for simply relaxing and enjoying the beautiful countryside and local wildlife including bats, buzzards and a large selection of native birds which visit the garden daily.


Dolwyddelan has a well stocked general store with off-license and friendly public house which serves bar-food. Alternatively the busy nearby village of Betws-y-Coed has a number of places to eat to suit all pockets. Betws-y-Coed also has a selection of specialist shops with an emphasis on outdoor activites.

 

Further details indoors:
Bed linen, towels bath mats and tea towels are included within the weekly rate, however, linen for cots should be provided by guests. Electric wall-mounted heaters in all rooms, with a log burning stove in the main living area. A large basket of logs, bag of kindling and fire lighters are included within the weekly rate of the cottage, additional logs can be purchased from the owner or alternatively from the local shop. Electricity is provided by way of £1.00 coin meter - please note that energy costs will differ from season to season.

The cottage has a private courtyard garden overlooking Moel Siabod and the stunning Snowdonia countryside which is well stocked with mature shrubs and flowering perennials thoughout the spring and summer months. Guests are welcome to bring their own barbecues provided that its use is strictly in accordance with the property owners guidelines. Outdoor seating, table and sun parasol are provided from early spring to late autumn.

 

Local Information

Snowdonia is the UKs first National Park. It is a rugged mountainous region of outstanding natural beauty and renowned for its breathtaking scenery and extensive outdoor pursuit activities including walking, rock climbing, mountain biking, white water rafting, orienteering, dry slope skiing and horse riding to name just a few. Whatever the weather, there is always something exciting to do.
Snowdonia has it's fair share of historic castles and churches - 2 of which (Dolwyddelan Castle and St Gwyddelans Church) are within 1km of Y Neuadd Lwyd. The stunning coastline of North West Wales with it's safe sandy beaches and secluded coves can all be reached within 30 minutes drive by car. Similarly, golf courses at Betws-y-Coed, Harlech, Conwy and Llandudno are all easily accessible by car.

 

The location of the cottage makes it perfect for touring Snowdonia and the surrounding area with plenty of attractions including Portmerion, Bodnant Gardens, Blaenau Ffestiniog Slate Caverns, Numerous Castles, Welsh Highland Railway and Snowdon to name but a few.

MOUNTAIN BIKING - Here in Snowdonia there has been a dramatic increase in the popularity of mountain biking whether you are a beginner, intermediate or advanced there’s a huge choice of recognised bike routes following our spectacular scenery. We are surrounded by some of the finest mountain biking routes in Europe. We have world class single track routes like the Marin Trail in the Gwydyr forest and Penmachno right on our doorstep and other classics like Coed y Brenin and Coed Llandegla only a few miles away. The cottage has a separate utility room which can double up as lockable secure storage for bikes with access to a water point for washing bicycles and outdoor clothing.

 

WALKING - The area caterers for both the experienced walker or those who just fancy a local stroll with the family. Dolwyddelan is the starting point for numerous walks all the details of which can be found in the wide selection of informative books and maps supplied in the cottage. On your return there is a separate utility room to wash all those muddy boots and facilities to hang and dry any wet weather clothing.
