There are interesting walks in virtually every direction, all of which take you through absolutely stunning scenery.

Goathland is a small village high on the North Yorkshire Moors.

Halmer Grange Guesthouse b&b is located at the quieter end of this busy village next to the church.  The village still boasts of having a Post Office, shops, and pubs

 

Nearby we have the North York Moors National Park, with beautiful green dales, clear streams, waterfalls and rivers.

There are also many pretty and quaint villages to explore, including those along Eskdale and those near the town of Pickering, such as Hutton-le-Hole, Thornton-le-Dale and Lastingham.

Whitby is only a short drive away.

We pride ourselves on offering excellent bed and breakfast facilities in a spotlessly clean and comfortable environment which has recently been refurbished.

Castle Howard took more than 100 years before it could be said to have been finally completed, and spanned the lifetime of three earls and numerous architects and craftsmen. As the house was built and decorated so the grounds were filled with lakes, temples, monuments and a grand mausoleum.
