Facilities & Information

Gower Edge holiday home rental offers spacious holiday accommodation over two floors, for 8 people. Children and pets are welcome, and in addition to the four double bedrooms there are three reception rooms downstairs, so there is plenty of room to spread out.

The family bathroom has a corner bath and separate shower, and there is an additional toilet downstairs. The kitchen has a dual fuel range cooker, a microwave, a fridge freezer and a dishwasher, and in the conservatory at the back of the house there is a washing machine and dishwasher. Linen and towels are provided in the price, and gas fired central heating is also inclusive.

Additional Information

Gower Edge holiday has parking for 3 cars to the front, and an enclosed rear garden with patio area. There is a small SPAR shop a short walk away, with additional shopping in nearby Killay. There is a bike path at the bottom of the hill which is popular for dog walking, and a children's play area in the square next to this. There are both Chinese and Indian takeaways here also, and there is a local pub with pool table within walking distance.

Local Information

Dunvant is a village on the outskirts of Swansea and the edge of the Gower Peninsula. It is well placed to visit both the North and South Gower beaches, and the countryside and heath land of the interior. The Gower Peninsula was the first area in the United Kingdom to designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and it has long be enjoyed by walkers, cyclists, photographers, and naturalists.

Surfers are lured to the beaches throughout the year, and the house is within ten miles of six golf clubs which offer a range of terrains for the visitor in search of a golf break in Wales.

For the historian, there is a wealth of evidence of the transformation of Swansea in the Industrial Revolution, and there is evidence of this on the doorstep, with the brickworks remains, along the bike path at the bottom of the road, now reclaimed by nature, and offering a home for roosting bats. There is also evidence of Dunvant's coal mining history, in the rows of terraced houses leading off the Square.

Latterly, Swansea has designated itself "Festival City", and there are numerous themed activities to suit every taste throughout the year.
