Facilities & Information

A  single storey cottage sleeping up to 6 attached to a farmhouse also available for holiday lets. Renovated in 2010 the cottage is cosy bolthole perfect for a family or small party. All rooms have underfloor heating with individual thermostats.

 

The sitting room has a traditional oak beamed inglenook fireplace with log burning stove and oak flooring. Large comfortable sofas and wall mounted flat screen TV/DVD with Freeview are provided for you to relax and enjoy the view from the sliding French doors which look out onto the patio area and beyond to the sea.

 

The kitchen has sea views and boasts oak fronted kitchen units with granite worktops, electric cooker, fridge freezer, washing machine and a small dining table seating 6.

 

There are three spacious bedrooms two with views of the sea. One has an ensuite bathroom with shower, washbasin and toilet, and a there is a separate bathroom with bath, shower, washbasin and toilet. All bathrooms have slate flooring. All bedrooms are carpeted and furnished to a high standard.

The Farmhouse (sleeps up to 8)

Renovated in 2010 the farmhouse is a spacious yet cosy property. All downstairs rooms have underfloor heating with individual thermostats in all rooms.

The sitting room has a traditional oak beamed inglenook fireplace with log burning stove, slate window sills and oak flooring. Large comfortable sofas and wall mounted flat screen TV/DVD with Freeview are provided for those evenings where you just want to relax indoors. A hobby room with sofa bed, oak flooring and PS2 console is an ideal bolt hole for the younger members of an extended family group.

The kitchen has lovely sea and rural views and boasts oak fronted kitchen units with granite worktops, dual fuel range cooker, fridge freezer and a large dining table seating 8. A separate utility room has downstairs toilet, washing machine and dryer.

Upstairs there are three spacious bedrooms all with views of the sea, two with exposed beams. Two ensuite bathrooms with showers, washbasins and toilets, and a bathroom with whirlpool bath, shower, washbasin and toilet provide ample facilities for the larger parties. The master bedroom has a balconette and sliding French doors to make the most of the view. All bedrooms are carpeted and furnished to a high standard with either reclaimed pine or sympathetic modern furnishings.

Outside there is a sunny patio (dependent obviously on the British weather!) with gated steps down to a sheltered seating area beside a delightful small stream.

 

 

Local Information

All our properties are situated just 4 minutes walk away on the coastal footpath from Church Bay Beach winner of a Blue flag award, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The beach is ideal for family holidays having sands and rock pools to keep the children happy for hours, it’s also known for its peaceful atmosphere perfect for those romantic strolls across the sands whilst enjoying the spectacular sunsets. The properties are a lovely place for a traditional family holiday, a romantic short break and cosy enough to enjoy whatever the season. A wide variety of activities can be found locally from walking, fishing, bird watching, horse-riding, sailing, canoeing, wind-surfing to simply just relaxing it’s right on your doorstep watching the changing faces of the sea.

 

En-route to the beach from the property is the Wavecrest Café which offers delicious home cooking and the famous Lobster Pot Seafood Restaurant for that special meal .A short walk away is the Church Bay Inn which has panoramic views across the bay, an ideal place to sip a glass of wine on a sunny evening. Two coastal footpaths can be accessed from the beach -one leading to spectacular National Trust land, “Menachdy” (house of the monks) where the dramatic Skerries lighthouse gracing the coastline which has views to the Isle of Man. The other direction takes you past an old signal station at Cable Bay to a beautiful secluded sandy beach known locally as Borthwen.

 

Swtan is a picturesque National Trust thatched cottage again a short walk en-route to the beach. It is open to the public, and was occupied until relatively recently by a local resident, it tells the tale of life in a bygone era with displays of traditional implements and a cottage garden.
