AboutRuby's Cottage is a Grade II listed holiday cottage ideally situated for the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales. The self catering accommodation sleeps up to 4 people in the Old Market town of Sedbergh in the outstanding natural scenery of the Howgill Fells,just 5 miles from Junction 37 of the M6
Facilities & InformationThe cottage has been restored to a very high standard being tastefully decorated and offering the following accommodation:
Lounge - Flagstone floors and the woodburner give a very traditional feel, whilst the comfortable sofa add to the cosiness.
Dining area - oak table, chairs and dresser
Kitchen - superb oak fitted units, belfast sink, granite worktops and a full range of AEG appliances.
Bedrooms - one double and one twin bedded room with interior sprung mattresses and carpet to the floor
Bathroom - modern suite with overbath shower and glass showerscreen
Outside
There is a small seating area by the beck(stream) with views to Dales.
Off road parking for one vehicle to the front of the cottage with extra parking nearly opposite. There is also a permit for FREE PARKING on the two main Sedbergh car parks Additional InformationThe cottage is an excellent base from which to explore the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales being situated between the two outstanding National Parks, whilst the Howgills - the fells Wainwright called 'the Sleeping Elephants' - offer magnificent scenery in their own right.
The Cottage was built c.1835 and was used as the joinery shop for the Mill, it then housed weavers at the turn of the last century. The cottage industries were all linked to weaving and knitting - the most famous being 'The Knitters of Dent'
