The Algarve / East Algarve region

The eastern Algarve is unspoilt and retains a great deal of the traditional Portuguese way of life. The area abounds in nature reserves, natural pine forests, fields of orange, fig and almond trees and conservation areas.

The coast is a sweep of golden sand arching from Vila Real de Santo Antonio, through Praia Manta Rota to the tip of Praia de Cabanas; these pristine beaches are less crowded even during the summer months.

Manta Rota beach is gloriously unspoilt situated in a dune protected area and a well kept secret on the Algarve surfing scene. Beaches close by include Lota, Monte Gordo approx 8km east and Cabanas de Tavira's beach 8km west.

Vila Nova de Cacela is the next town inland from Manta Rota with its own market on the 3rd Sunday of every month. The old fishing village is perched on a rocky cliff overlooking the sea; it features a church and a small fort dating back to 1143.

If you are looking for culture you can visit the elegant historic town of Tavira 14 km away.

 

Manta Rota / Praia da Lote area

A 2 minute stroll from the accommodation will lead you straight to the seemingly endless sea front and unspoilt award winning blue flag beach situated in a dune protected area.

It is a well kept secret on the Algarve surfing scene - they are attracted by its quietness and warm sea temperatures. Additionally you can visit both Monte Gordo's beach and Cabanas de Tavira's beach both of which can be reached by a stroll in either direction.

How to get there

Nearest airport is FARO Algarve, approximately 40km away. You can fly with a large number of airlines including BA, TAP, Aer Lingus, Easyjet, Monarch and Ryan Air all offer good prices but you need to search. Another option is to use Skyscanner to find flights.

Car Hire is recommended and I can arrange this for you to accompany your booking. Car hire can be collected on arrival at the airport or delivered to the accommodation.

Spacious and Airy throughout, the property has a modern fully equipped kitchen opening out onto the private terrace. The living/dining area is open plan and offers comfortable sitting for up to six people in the form of two sofas, with a dining table big enough to accommodation 6 easily. Downstairs is Bedroom 3 which is equipped with fitted wardrobes and has patio doors opening onto the private terrace, adjacent is the main bathroom providing a bath/shower and modern fixtures.

Upstairs on the 1st floor is Bedroom 1 with double bed, fitted wardrobes and en-suite opening onto small veranda overlooking the private terrace. Bedroom 3 with twin beds, fitted wardrobes and en-suite is situated to the front of the 1st floor with a small veranda overlooking the surrounding resort. Both en-suite bathrooms provide a shower and are complete with modern fixtures. Access to the private roof terrace can be gained on the 2nd floor of the property.

The property has two private terraces. Both the Kitchen and downstairs bedroom open onto the private terrace on the ground floor which is equipped with sun loungers, patio table and chairs, BBQ area with preparation sink and outdoors shower.

At the top of the property is a private roof terrace that proves breathtaking views over the protected sand dunes and beach out to sea. An ideal place to sit and watch the sunset.
