Ringstead is a very pretty village just a short drive from Weymouth and Dorchester. Surrounded by the rolling Dorset countryside that leads dwon the the lovely beaches with views towards the Jurassic coastline. There is a shop and cafe serving light meals in the high season and a public house called the Smugglers Inn within walking distance over the fields to Osmington. The cottage is in a secluded position, yet within a few minutes walk to the sea front. For more activities there is Weymouth, Dorchester, Bournemouth, Poole, Lulworth, Shaftesbury and Sherborne nearby ensuring a holiday that is either filled with activities or a quiet away for it all break.

Weymouth is just 4 miles from Ringstead and offers shops, supermarkets, beaches, sailing academy, restaurants, theatre and cinema. Portland is approx 6 miles away and offers castles, forts and white knuckle rides off Portland Bill. The sailing olympics in 2012 are being held here, making Ringstead the ideal location. The Roman town of Dorchester is approximately 6 miles away offering many amenities and the abbey town of Sherborne, Shaftesbury, Bournemouth and Poole are within driving distance.
