Luxury 4-6 berth 60 ft self drive narrowboat for hire. Moored on the River Wey in Guildford, a one week holiday will allow you to leisurely cruise the length of the River Wey - a scenic, well maintained waterway. Or why not venture further and visit Hampton Court or Windsor Castle on the Thames.

Facilities & Information

60 ft semi-traditional narrowboat.  One double fixed berth, two bunk beds, one dinette converts to a double.  Fully tiled shower and electric flush toilet, towels and bedding provided.  Comfortable, memory foam mattresses.   Heating via radiators or wood burning stove.  Flat screen TV, DVD player, Xbox 360 games console, Ipod docking station.    Selection of board games available.  Well equipped kitchen with oven, hob, microwave, fridge, toaster.  Fuel included in hire cost.  Free, secure parking right next to the boat.  Sorry, we are unable to accept pets on board.

Our luxury narrowboat, Box of Delights, has all the facilities for you to enjoy a great holiday whether you are a first time or experienced boater.  We provide comprehensive instruction on how to handle the boat and are on hand 24/7 in case you need assistance.  If you are boating for the first time you are welcome to try a taster day where you will have an experienced skipper who will teach you the ropes and, once you feel confident, take over the controls.   Or you can just relax and enjoy the day with up to five guests.

 

The boat is fully equipped and buoyancy aids and all safety equipment is provided. 

 

 

Local Information

Guildford is easily accessible just off the A3 in Surrey.  Guildford is an attractive historical town with two shopping precincts, department stores and numerous pubs and restaurants.  Guildford Castle is set in well maintained grounds, Guildford Musuem and the Yvonne Arnauld Theatre are well worth a visit.  There is also an Odeon Cinema, Leisure Centre and the South Downs Way provides many interesting walks. 

 

The River Wey passes through several towns and villages making it easy to stock up on supplies and there are many places to visit including Wisley Gardens, Godalming, National Trust Visitor Centre and you can moor up at the bottom of Guildford High Street. 

 

The location of the boat means that you have the option of several routes once you join the River Thames at Weybridge.  For longer holidays you can visit Henley on Thames and Oxford or join the Kennet & Avon canal.
