Carony is a lovely rural Bed and Breakfast set on the edge of the village of Indian Queens in the heart of the Cornish countryside. Easy access to the main A30, provides a perfect spot for those wishing to stay somewhere 'off the beaten track' yet be within reach of that Cornwall offers.

Facilities & Information

Carony has three first floor bedrooms suitable for adults only, a twin, a double and a single. there is a large guest bathroom. All rooms have wash hand basins, hospitality trays, colour televisions, clock radio, hairdryers and full central heating.  All bed linen and towels are provided. The rooms are clean and comfortable with lovely views of the surrounding countryside.

A cooked breakfast is included in the price and is served in the sunny dining Room, vegetarians and those with special dietary needs can be catered for, please advise when booking.

  • Walkers and cyclists are very welcome.
  • Sorry, but pets are not accepted.
  • Ample private parking, but please note this is NOT SUITABLE for HGV or large contract vehicles.
  • Pretty courtyard style guest garden.

Additional Information

Carony is hidden away at the bottom of a quiet country lane on the outskirts of the village of Indian Queens.  The main A30 route through Cornwall is a short drive away, enabling easy access to the whole county.  Both North and South coasts are within a twenty minute drive, as are many well known attractions, such as the Eden Project, Heligan Gardens and Lanhydrock House.  

 

The hugely popular costal towns of Padstow, Perranporth, Fowey and Newquay are also just a short drive, and the stunning landscape of Lands End can be reached within an hour.

Newquay Airport is five miles away with flights to many places within the UK and connections via London Gatwick to European and Worldwide destinations.

For non drivers there is good public transport to be found locally with buses, trains and taxis.

 

Local Information

Indian Queens offers several venues for dining out, including friendly local pubs, one of which serves food. There is also an award winning Fish & Chip Restaurant, a Chinese Restaurant and a large Harvester Restaurant.

The village is small, but there are a few local shops, a Post Office, plus cash point machines in several locations.

 

There is a large shopping complex, Kingsley Village, just a mile away, this offers a huge range of Cornish products for sale, including clothing, crafts and foods. On site there is also a coffee bar and first floor restaurant serving lunchtime meals. The Sunday Roasts are particularly popular!

Also nearby are several walks and attractions, including Indian Queens Pit, an open plan Preaching Pit, created years ago from an old open cast mine. Various events are held here throughout the Summer months including plays by local theatre groups and an annual Summer Fete.

For the bird enthusiast Screech Owl Sanctuary is nearby on Goss Moor.

 

This houses a large population of rescued Owls and other birds of prey, visitors are welcome to walk around the site and flying exhibitions regularly take place, visitors are actively encouraged to take part.
