Additional Information

Beach Folly is a well equipped, sunny seaside cottage, situated just 150 yards from the glorious sandy beach. 

This Victorian beachside cottage has stunning views of the sea, river and harbour mouth.  Well maintained and well equipped, it is ideal for families or couples looking for a real seaside holiday and a great base for exploring the numerous beauty spots of Norfolk and Suffolk, including the National Park and the fine city of Norwich.

 

There are lots of lovely places to go to eat out within a few minutes walk.  Pubs, Restaurants, Cafes and Take Aways are also closeby.  The Pavilion Theatre offers a good range of entertainment to suit all tastes, all year round.

Gorleston has the reputation of being Norfolk's 'best kept secret' with its golden sandy beach which is Lifeguard patrolled in the summer season.  The beach is great for bathing, building sand castles, watersports,

windsurfing, angling etc. Adjoining the beach is a children's paddling pooland the yacht pond, together with a small row of beachside shops where you can buy ice creams, food and seaside sundries.

 

Gorleston Bandstand is in sight and sound of the cottage. Every summer Sunday guest bands entertain holiday makers, enjoy from the cottage, orwalk across the road and take a seat by the bandstand.

The cliff top is just a couple of minutes walk, with beautiful gardens, tennis courts, bowling and putting greens, a trim train and Pirate Ship play area,something for every member of the family.

 

Gorleston Pier and beach are favourite spots for sea anglers offering good fishing all year round. The Norfolk Broads National Park provides a great place for bird watching.

    Great Yarmouth has one of the most attractive waterfronts in England.  With five miles of promenade, golden beaches and a spectacular pleasure beach Great Yarmouth is one of the country’s major seaside resorts. Visit Merrivale Model Village, the Norfolk Nelson Museum, the Time and Tide Museum and the Row Houses.


  • Great Yarmouth Racecourse


    Great Yarmouth Racecourse is located on the northern edge of the town only a few minutes walk from the beach.  It hosts around 24 days of exciting flat racing every year. A highlight is the three day Eastern Festival in September.

  • Yarmouth Stadium


    East Anglia's Premiere Racing Stadium for Greyhound and Motor Racing throughout the year. Action packed Greyhound Racing every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. The stadium also hosts, events ranging from Hot Rod to Banger racing.

    The regions biggest and best theme park, Pleasurewood Hills is Set in 50 acres of beautiful coastal parklands, less than 15 minutes from Beach Folly.


  • The Norfolk Broads National Park


    The Broads is Britain’s largest wetland, with its unique landscape of 200km of lock-free navigable rivers, shallow lakes, fens, woodland and grazing marshes – home to a rich variety of rare and special plants and wildlife

  • Nature Reserves and Bird Watching


    Norfolk Broadland offers chances to see rare plants and animals some of which are only found in this region. Local wildlife includes the Bittern, with its unique "booming" sound. Many butterflies such as the Swallowtail, and the "Norfolk Hawker", a huge dragonfly which looks a bit frightening, but is totally harmless. The UK's largest colony of Little Terns breeds on the North Denes beach at Great Yarmouth.

  • Wildlife Parks


    Within easy reach are many Wildlife Parks including Africa Alive at Lowestoft, Thrigby Hall Wildlife Gardens, Banham Zoo and Amazonia Zoo at Cromer.
