AboutPrimrose Hall is a beautifully converted ex-British Legion Hall located within walking distance of Rutland Water. It lies mid way between the historic market towns of Stamford and Oakham, in the picturesque village of Empingham and is just 5 miles off the A1, mid-way between London and York.
Facilities & InformationPrimrose Hall holiday cottage is furnished to a high standard with offering one double and one twin room a modern well-equipped kitchen. The open plan living area still retains many of its original features including a rare oak-block floor and Ancaster Arms Crest. Upstairs all doors and flooring are oak, with many exposed beams, retaining all the character and charm of this unique property. All linen, towels and energy costs are included in the price, and children and pets are welcome (pets by arrangement). The cottage is equipped with washing and ironing facilities, free-view television/DVD/CD player, hair-dryers, fridge freezer and microwave.
Additional InformationThe building is of great historical interest having been built in 1860 as a Meeting Hall for The Primrose League, (named after Benjamin Disraili's favorite flower) a political body which allowed Women members, long before Women had the vote. It therefore became the focus of the village, and is still very beloved by the locals today. The village of Empingham boasts a traditional pub that serves hot food all day, a village shop open 7 days a week, a Doctors Surgery and a Hairdressers.
